Sophomore Telecommunications major, Zhao Lingfang, looked  cute as a button while we snapped her picture in the Atrium. With a color pallet of pale pinks and creams, paired with her bow-clad ensemble, she was the epitome of femininity. Top this sweet look off with her bubbly smile and it could make even the grumpiest of students crack a smile.

Ball State beauty, Suzanne Denis,  looks sweet and trendy as she juxtaposes masculine and feminine for this spring look. Pairing a menswear inspired chambray shirt and nude oxfords with a pair of cropped floral pants that break out of the the pattern’s traditional use. Suzanne finds the perfect balance of menswear and women’s wear by finishing this outfit  with some warm golden rings and feather earrings.

Connor was a look that was worth the grade-A stalker chase down it took to get his picture. After seeing him from across the library, we literally chased him down to ask for a picture. After recovering from the shock of being pounced on, he said about his unique look, “It comes from trying to create a timeless look, using pieces that would look just as good now as in 1960 or 1940.” We love this freshman theatre major’s casual library look. Whether it’s his yellow turtleneck or his double-watched wrist, Connor’s on-time look is right in our book.

Algier isn’t a student at Ball State—but that doesn’t mean that you haven’t heard of him. This Barber is a Ball State legend, for not only dressing well, but also for famously giving haircuts behind the Village Records. Algier was able to describe his look better than we ever could. When prompted about the way he dresses, he simply stated that he likes to look “interesting from head to toe.” …A feat that he finds immense success with. Wearing a vest that was originally for women, he makes vintage work with a striped Indiana jacket. Though he pairs this simply with a pair of rolled Levi’s and brown boots, it is the accessories that really make this outfit a 10. This barber’s horsehair saddlebag was a uniquely eccentric addition that helped him really make the cut.

Freshman Apparel Design and Fashion Merchandising major, Annie, looks absolutely darling in her spring ensemble. Taking full advantage of the pastel trend, she rocks a bright melon blazer and  turquoise necklace. On the other end of the spectrum, she pairs her Alexander McQueen inspired skull motif top with a pair of charcoal pants and black flats. Her mixing of somber and cheerful pieces gives her outfit depth that makes her standout as one of BSU’s top.

Jaydan dares to be drastic with his bold playfulness with color. Starting with a bright yellow button up as a base, this first-year Apparel Design major uses wine colored pants to create a complimentary contrast. To add extra style without being overdone, Jayden finalizes his look with a classic black vest and hat. His main fashion inspirations come from icons such as Gene Kelly and James Dean—which is nicely reflected in his relaxed classic look. Paired with this canary shirt, we’re not above admitting that we were a little bit love-drunk off of these wine colored pants.
